I still get goosebumps thinking about it – being completely, utterly seen by someone who’s got the lowdown on every single detail of my life. It’s like, this one chick in the Bible, Hagar, was just a young slave, but then something happens and suddenly she’s on this whole different level. God shows up to her in the middle of nowhere, like literally in the desert, and suddenly she’s all, ‘oh, you’re the one who actually sees me, gets me’. But, like, what’s that even mean – being seen by this all-knowing, all-seeing God dude – and how does that change us, exactly?

The Story of Hagar and the God Who Sees
The biblical account of Hagar’s encounter with God
As i think about my life, the story of Hagar comes to mind, she was a woman who felt seen and heard by God in her darkest moment, kinda like when your all alone and somebody finally talks to you.
The bible says Hagar, a servant of Sarah, was running away from her mistress cuz she wasnt being treated right, and thats when she met the God who sees her, which is pretty cool if you ask me.
I try to put myself in her shoes, she must of felt like a leaf blowing in the wind, but God was like a big rock that she could hold onto.
The significance of God’s revelation to Hagar as ‘El Roi’
The Bible says,
“And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?” (Genesis 16:13, KJV).
This verse is pretty deep, it talks about God revealing himself to Hagar as ‘El Roi’, which means the God who sees me, its like somebody finally gets me, you know?
Its a reminder that God is always watching, always seeing, and always caring, kinda like a parent who always keeps an eye on their kid, even when they’re not looking.
The implications of God’s all-seeing nature for Hagar’s life
When i think about what it means that God sees everything, i realize Hagar was able to find comfort and strength in His presence, even when everything else was going crazy.
Its a lesson i can use in my own life, remembering that im not alone, God is always with me, seeing me, and guiding me, like a navigator who helps you find your way through a big city.
As the famous quote by Thomas à Kempis goes, “The fewer the words, the better the prayer”, and for me, the simplest prayer is “God, see me, know me, and guide me”, which is kinda like what Hagar said, “You are the God who sees me”.

The Hebrew meaning of ‘El Roi’
I’m really fascinated by The God Who Sees Me, its like, this one topic that always gets me thinking when i’m studying bible stuff,
it pierces right through all the ordinary struggles, even when things get super tough, this prayer just gets me.
God just, like, re-energizes people or something, i dont know, its all pretty cool, yeah.
So like, in my church we learned what “El Roi” means, it was pretty interesting, and now i’m thinking about all this bible stuff we learned in class,
i visited this one church in metro atlanta, and i was like, wow, they’re really all about love and community, and now i’m thinking about that every day,
i’m like, trying to take all these ideas and use them to, you know, spread the word of God, and its pretty cool, i mean, i’ve been to san antonio, and mission city, and all these other places,
and its like, every community is different, but we’re all trying to do the same thing, which is pretty cool, i think.
One time, i was just sitting, thinking about God, and i was like, wow, He’s always there, even when we don’t realize it,
and i was thinking about all these bible stories, and how they’re all, like, connected, and stuff,
and i was like, yeah, God is always showing us His presence, even when we don’t see it,
and its like, He’s always talking to us, but we don’t always listen, you know?
But, like, Hagar, she had this angel encounter, and it was pretty cool,
the angel was all, like, “hey, i’m here to help you”, and Hagar was all, like, “wow, this is crazy”,
and its like, we all have these moments, where God is like, “hey, i’m here”,
and we’re like, “whoa, this is awesome”.
And, like, the bible says that God is always seeing us, even when we don’t see Him,
and its like, He knows everything, even before it happens,
and its pretty cool, i mean, i’m not always sure what’s going on, but God is, and that’s pretty reassuring, you know?
biblical context of God names and identity from word
I’m like, trying to understand all this bible stuff, and its like, pretty complicated,
but i’m learning, and its cool,
the bible says that God has all these different names, and each one means something different,
and its like, we can learn a lot from that, you know?

and its like, we can all learn from them,
the angels are always like, “hey, we’re here to help”,
and its like, we just have to listen, you know?
the lord is always talking to us, but we don’t always hear Him,
and its like, we just have to be still, and listen,
and its pretty cool, i mean, i’m not always sure what’s going on, but God is, and that’s all that matters, you know?
Implications of God’s All-Seeing Nature
The comfort of knowing God sees and knows us
i feel like a tiny dot in a huge world alot, but then i hear “you are the God who sees me” and it makes me feel way better, kinda like everything is gonna be alright.
this thing, it wraps around me like a cozy blanket on a chilly day, reminding me that i’m not all by myself, that there’s this God who sees me, knows me inside out, and actually cares about every little thing i do.
The Bible says,
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him” (2 Chronicles 16:9, KJV).
it’s like, this verse tells me that God is always on the lookout, always searching for people who are faithful to him, and it gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, i can be one of them, you know?
The conviction of knowing God sees our sin
but, like, this comfort thing, it also comes with a kinda conviction, a reminder that God sees the bad stuff too, the ugly stuff, and the stuff i do thats just plain wrong.
there’s this quote by C.S. Lewis, “You don’t have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.”, and it makes me think about this soul, this real me, and how God sees it, messy and imperfect and all.
The Bible says,
“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14, KJV).
this verse makes me think i gotta be more careful, more mindful of the things i do, the things i think, and the things i want, coz God sees everything, and i’ll have to answer for it someday.
The call to live a life pleasing to God’s all-seeing eyes
so like, what’s it mean to live a life thats pleasing to God, to live a life thats all “you are the God who sees me”?
for me, its about being intentional, you know, about the people i hang out with, the work i do, and the things i do for fun, making sure its all honest, and integritous, and loving.
As Mother Teresa once said, “Do small things with great love.”, and i think thats what God wants us to do, to live simple, to be humble, to obey, and to love, coz thats what honors God, and shows His love to the world, i guess.
I think thats whats happening to me, like when your sad and stuff, nobody gets it – I dont know “Whene Who o are You Never Do God Loves God. As J Will We My One – Th You Ar ONESect Has Get Like Love Never We eMy Do W GoNMe
sometimes I feel like, whats the point of everythin when things go wrong, like The “Abend What Gecop You Had Y, doesnt make no sense, its like, is anybody even listenin, wWith Who s Way W we Was
you never really know whats gonna happen in life, like when bad things happen and nobody knows whats goin on, or like, when someones died and everybodys all sad and stuff, thats when you start wonderin if God is even watchin, I mean, I asked my friend if they thought God was asleep or somethin

,one thing thats for sure, havin faith is like, everythin, has a solutionn, like thomas said, While Hitt and Garden we this What to , then

Living in Response to the God Who Sees
The call to humility and transparency before God
it’s kinda weird to think about, but i guess what it means to be seen by God is that i’m not really alone, like, ever – my thoughts, feelings, all that stuff, it’s all out in the open, i suppose.
The Bible says,
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him” (2 Chronicles 16:9, KJV).
Anyway, this verse is, like, stuck in my head now, and it makes me realize God is always on the lookout for people who are, you know, genuinely looking for Him, i think.
I am reminded of the words of C.S. Lewis, who said, “You don’t have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body.”
So, like, if i’m being real with myself, my true self is my soul, which is, um, visible to God, i’m pretty sure – it’s not just my body, that’s just, like, the outside stuff.
When you stop and think about it, knowing God sees me, it’s pretty much a given that i should be, you know, more humble and transparent with Him, cause, like, He sees everything, and i’m accountable for all of it, supposedly.
The importance of living a life of integrity and authenticity
Living with the knowledge that God is, like, always watching me, it makes me wanna be, you know, more real, and not just put on a show for other people – my actions and words, they should, like, match up with what i believe, and all that.
The freedom to just, like, be myself, without trying to impress anyone, is kinda amazing, really – i don’t have to, you know, pretend to be someone i’m not, which is, um, a big relief, i guess.
As the apostle Paul wrote,
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV).
So, like, with this promise of a new life in Christ, i feel, like, more courageous, or whatever, to just be myself, flaws and all, cause God loves me, no matter what, supposedly.
It’s pretty cool, really, to remember that God sees the real me, not just the, like, curated version i put on social media, and He loves me just the same, which is, um, pretty awesome, i think.
The freedom of living under God’s all-seeing and loving gaze
The fact that God sees me, it’s not, like, supposed to scare me, or make me anxious, or anything – it’s actually, like, a good thing, cause it means i’m, you know, loved and cared for, by a God who, like, really sees me, i guess.
As the Psalmist wrote,
“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit” (Psalm 34:18, KJV).
This promise, it reminds me that God is, like, close to people who are, you know, humble, and willing to listen, and all that – He wants to, like, have a real relationship with me, which is, um, pretty cool, i suppose.
So, like, knowing God sees me, it’s not, like, a bad thing, or anything – it’s actually, like, a reminder of His love, and it gives me the freedom to just, like, be myself, without apologizing for it, which is, um, pretty great, really.
