To be honest, every time I think about Abraham, I’m blown away by his faith – no matter what life threw at him, he kept on trusting. Servants of the Past, Examples for the Present
I’m reading thru the Old Testament, and I come acrost alot of people who served God with alot of dedication and faith, it’s pretty cool. Me, I gotta think about my own relationship with God, like, am I serving Him with the same passion and committment as these guys? Their stories are, like, really inspiring and stuff.
Abraham: A Father of Faith
So, Abraham’s story is pretty amazin, he just gets up and leaves his home and family, no questions asked, thats alot of trust. The Bible says,
“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went” (Hebrews 11:8, KJV).
I mean, can you imagine just picking up and leaving, not knowing where your going, thats crazy, but Abraham did it, and it’s like, a reminder that we gotta trust and surrender to God’s plan, you know?
Moses: A Leader of the Israelites
Moses, he’s like, a total transformation, from some guy who Doesn’t think he can lead, to a major leader of the Israelites, it’s pretty awsome. The Bible reminds us that
“the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?” (Exodus 4:11, KJV).
It’s like, Moses’ story shows me, it aint about what I can do, it’s about what God can do thru me, and that’s pretty cool, I guess.
David: A King Who Trusted in God
David, he’s like, the classic example of a guy who trusted in God, his psalms are full of it, just alot of expressions of trust and hope and dependence on God. The Bible says,
“the Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower” (Psalm 18:2, KJV).
I’m like, I wanna be like David, you know, just trusting in God, even when stuff gets tough, thats the goal, I suppose.
Elijah: A Prophet Who Stood for God
Elijah, he’s like, the bold one, standing up against idolatry and corruption, it’s pretty intense. The Bible says,
“Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him” (1 Kings 18:21, KJV).
It’s like, Elijah’s all, “hey, you gotta choose, God or not”, and that’s like, a challenge to me, to figure out what I’m really about, and whats important to me, you know?
Isaiah: A Prophet Who Spoke for God
Isaiah, he’s like, the prophet dude, speaking God’s words, even when it’s hard, and thats pretty amazin. The Bible says,
“also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8, KJV).
I’m like, I wanna be like Isaiah, just listening to God’s voice, and being all, “hey, send me”, thats the goal, I guess, to just be obedient, and stuff.

Jesus: The Ultimate Servant of God
When I thinks about them Bible characters who served God, my mind immediately goes to Jesus – he’s like the ultimate example or whatever. The way he lived his life, with humility and obedience, is pretty inspiring, to be honest. The Bible says,
“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45, KJV).
That verse, it kinda gets me every time – its deep, you know; Jesus, the Son of God, he comes to earth not to get served, but to serve others, thats some next level stuff. He gave up a lot, like his divine rights and privileges, to help humanity, and he went all the way, even giving his life, which is crazy.
The Apostles: Serving God Through Spreading the Gospel
The apostles, they were a group of people who served God with alot of passion and stuff, they were really dedicated. Their job was to spread the Gospel, and they did it with alot of courage, and they were pretty convinced about what they were doing, you feel me. I love what Paul wrote to the Corinthians,
“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16, KJV).
The apostles, they felt like they had a big responsibilty to share the Good News with others, and they were willing to do whatever it took to get that done, no matter what.
Paul: The Apostle Who Served God Despite Persecution
Pauls story, its pretty cool, it inspires me alot. He went thru alot of hard times, people were against him, and he got persecuted, but he never gave up, thats the thing. In fact, he wrote,
“For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake” (Philippians 1:29, KJV).
Paul, he saw the hard times he was going thru, as a good thing, like a privilage or something, not something bad, and that gave him the strength to keep going, I guess.
Stephen: The First Martyr Who Served God
Stephens story, its a big reminder of what can happen when you serve God, its not always easy. He was the first Christian to die for his faith, and the way he handled it, was pretty brave, I think. The Bible says,
“And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep” (Acts 7:60, KJV).
Stephen, he forgave the people who were against him, and he showed them love, even when they were being really mean, thats a pretty big example of how to serve God, with love and humility, and all that.
John: The Apostle Who Served God Through His Writings
Lastly, theres John, he served God by writing, and his books, like the Gospel of John, and the Book of Revelation, they have inspired alot of people. I love what he wrote,
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1, KJV).
Johns writings, they remind us of how powerful Gods Word is, and how important it is to serve Him with our whole hearts, and to do it with passion, and dedication, and stuff.

Serving God with Faith and Trust
I aint never gonna forget the story of Sarah, the wife of Abraham – she’s like a total inspiration to me.
Me and my friends was talking about her the other day, and we all agree she’s a remarkable example of a woman who served God with unwavering faith and trust, you know?
The thing that strikes me about Sarah is she was asked to do the impossible – to believe that she would bear a child at the age of 90, which is just crazy when you think about it.
One of them bible verses, it says
“Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised” (Hebrews 11:11, KJV).
This verse reminds me, like, serving God requires faith and trust, even when the circumstances seem impossible, and thats a hard thing to do, right?
It’s all about having faith, and thats what i’m trying to do, have more faith.
Leading with Courage and Wisdom
Deborah, the judge who led the Israelites, she’s another inspiring example, and i’m gonna tell you why – she’s a testament to the fact that women can be strong leaders who serve God with courage and wisdom, which is really cool.
What i like about Deborah is she’s a great example of someone who served God with courage and wisdom, and we can all learn from her, you know?

Me and my family, we was talking about Ruth the other day, and we all agree she’s a great example of someone who served God with dedication and love, even when it was hard.

“And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God” (Ruth 1:16, KJV).
It’s like, this verse reminds me that serving God requires us to be willing to surrender our own desires and follow Him with humility and loyalty, which is a big ask, but its worth it.

What i like about Mary is she’s a great example of someone who served God with a willing heart, even when it was hard, and thats something we can all learn from.

“And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word” (Luke 1:38, KJV).
It’s like, this verse reminds me that serving God requires us to be willing to surrender our own plans and desires to His will, which can be hard, but its worth it.
I’m trying to be more like Mary, she’s like, my role model or something.

Phoebe, the deaconess who served the early church, she’s like, a really great example of a woman who served God with compassion and love – she’s like, the ultimate servant, you know?
Me and my friends, we was talking about Phoebe the other day, and we all agree she’s a great example of someone who served God with kindness and generosity, even when it was hard.
The bible says some really nice things about Phoebe, like
“I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea” (Romans 16:1, KJV).
It’s like, this verse reminds me that serving God requires us to be willing to serve others with compassion and love, which is something we can all do, you know?
I’m trying to be more like Phoebe, she’s like, my hero or something.

Faith: Trusting in God Despite Uncertainty
Me, i’ve been in situations alot where i dont no whats gonna happen next, but i just gotta have faith in Gods plan, ya know.
The Bible says,
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7, KJV).
Its like with Abraham – he just up and left his whole life behind to follow some promise from God, no clue where he’s goin, just trustin God’ll show him the way, thats some crazy faith.
Faith, to me atleast, is like takin that first leap of faith into the unknown, even when you cant see nothin ahead, if that makes sence.
Obedience: Following God’s Commands Despite Difficulty
Imagine somebody asks you to do somethin thats basically the opposite of what you wanna do, thats pretty tough, right.
So Jonah, he gets told by God to go preach to these people in Nineveh, and whats he do?
The Bible says,
“But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord” (Jonah 1:3, KJV).
But then he finally decides to obey, and it ends up savin a whole city, pretty cool.
Obedience is like, puttin Gods will before your own desires, even when its super hard, you feel me.
Humility: Serving God Without Seeking Recognition
Its like, everybody wants to be famous or somethin nowadays, but the people in the Bible who served God, they didnt do it for that reason, they just did it.
Take John the Baptist for instance, he coulda easily been all like “hey, look at me”, but instead he’s all about Jesus.
The Bible says,
“He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30, KJV).
To me, humility is like, servin God without expectin no recognition or nothin, just doin it cuz its right.
Courage: Standing for God Despite Fear
I dont know about you, but i’ve been in situations where i’m like, really scared to stand up for what i believe in, especally when everybodies against me.
But them Bible characters who served God, they didnt let fear stop em, no way.
Like Daniel, he refused to bow down to them idols, even when it meant he’d get thrown in a den of lions, thats some crazy courage.
The Bible says,
“But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods” (Daniel 3:18, KJV).
Courage is like, standin up for what you believe in, even when its super scary, and you dont know what’s gonna happen.
Sacrificial Love: Serving God Through Selfless Acts
So whats sacrificial love mean to you, i’m curious.
I think its like, puttin sombody elses needs before your own, even if it costs you somethin, thats some real love.
Like Jesus, he gave up his life for us, and we didnt even deserve it, thats some crazy love.
The Bible says,
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13, KJV).
Sacrificial love, to me, is like servin God by servin others, even when it costs you somethin, and thats somethin we should all try to do.

The importance of faith in serving God
I’m thinkin, like, faith is pretty important when it comes to servin God, you know, cause it’s like, it guides me through all the craziness of life and helps me stay focused on whats really matters.
Faith, alot of times, is like a journey, not a destonation, where we just gotta keep movin forward, even when we ain’t sure whats gonna happen next, and thats what makes it so tough.
The Bible says,
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7, KJV).
It’s like, this verse is always poppin into my head, remindin me of all them biblical heroes, like Abraham, Moses, and David, who had some serious faith, even when everythin seemed hopeless.
Their stories, they inspire me, you know, to trust God more, even when I’m all like “I dont know whats goin on” and everythin seems all foggy and stuff.
The role of obedience in serving God
Obedience, man… it’s like, a major key to servin God, and we can see that in the lives of bible characters like Noah, who built a ark in the middle of nowhere, and Joshua, who just walked around Jerichos walls for like, a week, thats some crazy obedience right there.
What I’m tryin to say is, they chose to obey God, no matter how weird it seemed, and thats somethin we should all be tryin to do, you feel me.
As the famous quote by Oswald Chambers goes, “The biggest enemy of our faith is not doubt, but disobedience”.
It’s like, this quote, it hits me hard, cause I’m realizin that obeyin God, it’s not just about followin rules, it’s about bein in a real relationship with Him, you know.
The value of humility in serving God
Bein humble, man… it’s like, a big deal, and we can see that in the lives of bible characters like Jesus, who washed his disciples feet, and just, like, took on the role of a servant, thats some real humility right there.
It’s like, they show me that servin God, it’s not about gettin all the glory and recognition, it’s about just, like, surrenderin to His will, and bein humble about it.
The Bible says,
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up” (James 4:10, KJV).
This verse, it makes me wanna be more humble, you know, and just, like, give up my ego and pride, and just serve Him, and serve others, and just, like, give Him all the glory.
The need for courage in serving God
Serving God, alot of times, it takes some serious courage, like we can see in the lives of bible characters like Daniel, who refused to worship them idols, and Esther, who risked her life to save her people, thats some crazy courage right there.
Their bravery, man… it inspires me to just, like, stand up for what I believe in, even when it’s hard, or when nobody else is doin it.
As the famous quote by Martin Luther King Jr. goes, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the judgment that something else is more important than fear”.
It’s like, this quote, it motivates me to just, like, face my fears, and trust that God’s got my back, and He’s gonna give me the courage I need to serve Him boldly, you feel me.
The power of sacrificial love in serving God
Lastly, the lives of bible characters who served God, they remind me of the power of love, like, real love, sacrificial love, you know.
Jesus, man… He’s like, the ultimate example of this, He died on the cross for us, and thats some crazy love right there, it’s like, it shows me how much God loves us, and how much we should be lovin Him back.
The Bible says,

How to develop faith like the Bible characters
Me personally, i’ve been thinking alot about them bible characters who served God, like Abraham, he trusted God’s promise even when it seemed really impossiable.
The Bible says,
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11, KJV), and this gives me hope to trust in God’s plan for my life.
Itslike, Abraham’s faith was a seed that get planted, and then nurtured, and eventually it blossomed into this beautifull tree, and thats what i want for my faith, you know?
Faith is kinda like a muscle, it needs excerising, and the more you use it, the stronger it becomes, like Davids faith, it growed alot as he faced them giant challenges and trusted God to overcome them, thats a good example.
How to practice obedience like the Bible characters
Looking at Daniel’s life, i’m struck by how commited he was to obeying God, even when it ment facing them lions, thats crazy.
As the famous quote by C.S. Lewis goes, “The obstacle is the path”, and Daniels story shows us that obedience aint always easy, but its allways worth it, i beleive.
I ask myself, whats the areas in my life where i need to practice obeying God, like Daniel did, and trust that God will guide me threw the process, thats the key.
The story of Joseph, who got sold into slavery by his brothers, but still trusted and obeyed God, thats a powerfull example of obedience in the face of alot of adversity, i think.
How to cultivate humility like the Bible characters
Moses’ life is a great exemple of how humility can be cultivated, he learned to trust God, not his own strenght, even when faced with leading the Israelites out of Egypt, thats a big task.
The Bible says,
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up” (James 4:10, KJV), and it reminds me that humility aint about thinking less of ourselves, but more like, thinking of ourselves less, thats deep.
I think about how Moses’ humility let him hear God’s voice, and follow His guidness, and i want that kind of humility in my life, its important.
By studying them bible characters who served God, like Moses, i’m learning to cultivate humility, and trust in God’s plan for my life, thats my goal.
